The Surrogate Colony is set in a post pandemic world where its citizens routinely scan their surroundings for microbes using their x-ray vision, carry out extensive sanitization procedures on a day to basis and look down upon large gatherings. Needless to say, this dystopian world is built on our existing fears - the fear of catching a virus.
Humans burnt at the stake, missing girls, floating apparitions AND a serial killer! How could you scroll past a book like that? Since it is October, I thought it would be an excellent pick to start off my Reading Challenge, and I was super glad that the majority voted to read it!
If I could describe this book in one word, it would be pretty. Pretty cover, pretty characters, pretty words and some pretty settings. I am quite the skeptic when it comes to all things pretty, but for once a pretty book did not disappoint.
